As CWCS’s Women’s Policy Liaison and Special Projects Manager, Michelle Noehren represents the commission on several boards and commissions and is an active part of the CWCS policy team. Michelle leads and directs agency events, such as public hearings, forums, Women’s Day at the Capitol and Pay Equity Day. In addition, she oversees the Young Women Rising program and manages the CWCS website and social media. In 2014 she was selected by the Connecticut Women’s Education and Legal Fund as one of the 40 women for the next 40 years. She has also won the Most Inspirational Mom Award from gomom.me, the DEP’s Green Circle Award, the Catherine Roraback Award from Connecticut NARAL, Connecticut NOW’s Exceptional Young Feminist Award, the Chase Going Woodhouse Prize and numerous others. Before joining the CWCS, Michelle, who earned a B.A. with a double major in Female Identity Formation & Psychology (with a minor in Women’s Studies) at the University of Connecticut, was a lead organizer at the Connecticut Citizen Action Group working for campaign finance reform.
